In this card we see the man lying asleep with the 3 swords overhead. He is also within the walls of his church/temple where he is secure and safe from all harm. In this place he is able to remove himself from the circumstances represented by the swords, to travel within where he may better hear the Divine Guidance he has sought in this safe haven. We also must be willing to set aside outer circumstances, to rest, and come into this place of tranquility where our wisdom lies waiting for our discovery of it.
Position 1: Background | Present Concern
Taking a rest from activity, or recovering from illness. A brief respite before taking on more activity or starting a new venture.
Position 2: Your Drive and Motivations
You are in a period of transformation and are looking for support during this often confusing time. A need to take a rest before moving forward.
Position 3: What’s Blocking You – Fears and Subconscious
This indicates a period of time where you may be unsure of decisions you are making. These uncertainties are causing you to reevaluate decisions, but in the process, you may be second guessing yourself or your ability. Are you spending too much time thinking and planning in an effort to avoid actually taking constructive action? While it can be good to take some downtime, it can be detrimental if things remain unresolved.
Position 4: Perspective and Further Awareness – What you Need to See Clearly
A place of silence and respite can be a welcome thing for attaining clarity, so long as it doesn’t become a means of procrastination or avoidance. Take time to sit in silence and listen, but then take action on that guidance.
Position 5: Course of Action
If something is troubling you, stand back from it for a bit or just set it aside for the time being. Appropriate actions will be more apparent when you take the time to allow your higher self / Spirit to lead the way.
