In this card, we see sunny skies and a woman taming the lion. The infinity loop above her head points to the infinite inner strength within each one of us. We don’t always have control of outer circumstances. The lion demonstrates the unpredictable nature of the outer world, however, we do have a choice of how we deal with our circumstances. When we make conscious efforts to let go of negativity and to empower our own perspectives, we tame the beast. Quiet inner strength, as opposed to brute force, is what gives an individual the strength to move mountains.
Position 1: Background | Present Concern
This card comes up during periods of challenge where you are called upon to master a situation within, rather than trying to exert force over it. It is a card of perseverance, quiet strength and confronting problems with an empowered mindset. This card indicates the ability to overcome obstacles through strategy and change of perspective.
Position 2: Your Drive and Motivations
You want to see results and to overcome obstacles along your path to your goal after a period of resistance or challenges. You are motivated by the desire for increased resolve and improved confidence in personal ability.
Position 3: What’s Blocking You – Fears and Subconscious
A period of time where you may feel exhausted or weak. It can indicate recovery from illness or a traumatic experience. This card as a challenge suggests a period where you feel overpowered by outer circumstances and it makes it hard to see your options or regain a sense of power, but this experience is temporary. Patience and a one day at a time approach can help remedy feelings of hopelessness and struggle.
Position 4: Perspective and Further Awareness – What you Need to See Clearly
If you are feeling blocked, now is the time to consciously redirect your thoughts in new ways. Focusing on solutions instead of the problems themselves is a great way to restore a sense of connection with life and your higher power. You may be holding onto a lack of trust or past grievances that are overpowering your ability to pick up and carry on. Forgiveness and release of painful situations or toxic people is a show of strength that will restore your momentum.
Position 5: Course of Action
Learn to realize that there are blessings all around you. Don’t feel that the only things worth having you have to fight or struggle for. If you have to struggle for it so much that it’s a constant source of stress/anxiety it’s probably not worth it. There is a huge difference between a challenge that is positive and makes you grow vs. a struggle against something that is not benefiting you.
