seven of swords tarot cardTarot Wisdom The Seven of Swords

In this card; we see the man slinking away with five of the swords, looking around to ensure he doesn’t get caught. This card indicates deception, a feeling of getting one up on another, or taking advantage of a situation. This card calls us to look at ways we may allow others to take unfair advantage of us, but it also calls us to look at the ways in which we deceive ourselves, or perhaps justify behaviors/actions we know are not for the highest good.

Position 1: Background | Present Concern

A period of introspection, self-protection, analyzing things, establishing priorities, also a time where you may tend to put emotional needs above common sense, warning about that.

Position 2: Your Drive and Motivations

You are aware you need to take action to correct a problem area. Self-deception or allowing yourself to be misled may be problematic.  A drive to have what you desire, but at what cost?

Position 3: What’s Blocking You – Fears and Subconscious

Troubles with organization and establishing priorities that may leave you struggling for ways to get things done on time. You may be upset with someone close, perhaps even yourself, who you feel continually disappoints you. Fear of failure combined with a failure to plan or act methodically may cause you to act out of character or do things you wouldn’t normally do.  A tendency to avoid accountability.

Position 4: Perspective and Further Awareness – What you Need to See Clearly

Be content to be who you are; trying to be someone you aren’t will cost you. The truth is always revealed eventually.  Your actions now may solve a temporary problem while creating a long-term conflict of interest.  Don’t strive to obtain the impossibly exacting standards of “perfection”. When we look at ourselves as lacking, it makes it more tempting to act against what is for our highest good.

Position 5: Course of Action

Don’t allow yourself to believe the deception that you are somehow deserving of less than what is essentially right. If you know in your heart something feels wrong, don’t do it or allow it to be done to you. This is a card that speaks of the need for integrity towards self and others.
