seven of pentacles tarot cardTarot Wisdom | The Seven of Pentacles (Coins)

In this card, we see the tired man leaning on his staff after a struggle. The skies are gray and rather dreary. He is pausing to reflect, perhaps feeling unfulfilled, or seeking the larger meaning behind his circumstances.  He is searching for truth and a renewed sense of purpose. What he doesn’t see at the moment is the promise in that last pentacle which lies at his feet. It’s been with him all along simply waiting for him to discover it. This card reminds us to not get attached to things, or to the past. Material rewards come and go, it’s what we have within that brings a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

Position 1: Background | Present Concern

A period of looking within, standing alone, reevaluating your life and goals, dissatisfaction with the way things have been and anxiety about the way things will come to pass.

Position 2:

You feel the desire to do something more, or to move on to new things, and are trying to figure out the best way to make this happen.

Position 3: What’s Blocking You – Fears and Subconscious

You doubt your ability to be successful in a new venture, trouble breaking away from your past, feeling you are not able to achieve your goals. Self-doubt holds you back.

Position 4: Perspective and Further Awareness – What you Need to See Clearly

You are capable of having what you want, but you let your fear and insecurities talk you out of going forward with new ideas or plans. Don’t accept what doesn’t make you happy because you don’t want to take a leap of faith. It is alright to be fearful of new things, it’s totally natural, but don’t defeat yourself before you at least try, or you’ll open yourself up to more feelings of regret and lack of fulfillment.

Position 5: Course of Action

Face the fears and insecurities that are holding you back; once you renew your determination you will apply the type of energy it takes to reach your goals. Often these periods of reflection are beneficial,  giving you the time necessary to see what your true motivations are, and what you really need to accomplish on a deeper level to find inner peace and fulfillment.
