free three card tarot reading four of cupsTarot Wisdom The Four of Cups

In this card, we see a young man sitting beneath the Tree of Life focusing on all the cups out of his reach. He is so caught up in all of those elusive things, that he doesn’t even notice the Divine hand reaching out to him to quench his thirst. This card reminds us to not devote our attention to all the things others have that we don’t or to fixate on all we think will make us happy etc. If we are willing to let go of all we “think” we want or need we leave room for the blessings that are right before us to manifest.

Position 1: Background | Present Concern

Indicates a period of extreme want for something, becoming so caught up in feelings of want or need that there is a sense of something always missing. Not seeing all your options.

Position 2: Your Drive and Motivations

You have a compulsion or obsessive desire which may be clouding you from perceiving the whole truth in a situation. Focused so intently on personal desires that you are not seeing alternatives that are being presented.

Position 3: What’s Blocking You – Fears and Subconscious

You are learning that external things and other people do not provide happiness. There is a tendency here to avoid pain or problems by focusing your attention outwards trying to “fix” others or acquire material things to sublimate the emptiness you feel. Fear of not finding fulfillment.

Position 4: Perspective and Further Awareness – What you Need to See Clearly

There is always hope, even when you don’t recognize it. You need to know that we are all created as part of a Divine plan and our experiences shape and mold us into what we become. Without hardships, we would not appreciate joy, but when we focus only on the hardships, we become unable to notice and fully appreciate the blessings.

Choose to focus on the positives. Accept the abundant blessings you have and work hard to truly appreciate them. Once you begin to let yourself heal, you will find the Universe will open up to you and you will be better able to accept the new and better circumstances that are trying to find their way to you.

Position 5: Course of Action

Now is a time to honor yourself: your strengths, your blessings and to cultivate your natural talents rather than reflecting on all you feel you lack. Reach out and accept the spiritual gifts and new opportunities being presented to you now.
