Some Updates

So I’m back from my vacation.  I’ve waited 9 years to go to the coast again and it was wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of it.  Before my trip I actually had another visit from my grandfather who in life was like my father figure.  He passed nearly 20 years ago and I have always grieved that loss.  Ironically it was a visit from him several years ago that started me heavily down my current path.  He appeared to me in a vision and told me things that were going to happen and long story short I started to develop my Mediumship abilities at that time.

In life, he was the first person to take me to see the ocean.  When he visited me before I left it was very funny and very touching.  He was sitting with my grandmother in their old living room and I being a vegetarian made him some veggie bacon and he bit into it and made a face and I told him you can’t eat regular bacon every day it isn’t good for you! and he laughed and said like that matters huh?  and I was like oh yeah… that lol.   so he was tweaking my nose and still wanting his steady diet of crappy food ;) I guess I knew he’d be looking out for me on my trip so it was nice, but even though I know he is still around it is sometimes still hard. He was always my shelter during a very rocky childhood and I turned to him to feel the acceptance and love I didn’t feel in an abusive home/school situation. His loss left me feeling very abandoned and alone as a teen and I had to find my strength to get through a lot of rough spots.

I was reflecting on a lot of my experiences after his visit and on my way down to the coast and I actually realized that I’ve enjoyed my life as a whole, even the difficult parts and that’s why the quote I got in my email today was so serendipitous.  Spending time by the ocean tends to make me more reflective.  Being a Scorpio I am naturally drawn to the water and the pull of the tides and the ocean is a place of magic, serenity and beauty beyond words to me.

Anyway here is my quote of the day :)
“How do we nurture the soul? By revering our own life. By treating it as supremely important. By reaching for the best within ourselves. By learning to love it all, not only the joys and the victories, but also the pain and the struggles.”

– Nathaniel Branden

So this trip and that visit have been a wonderful birthday gift to me.  My boyfriend and I both have October birthdays his was while we were gone and mine fittingly enough is on Halloween.  This year will definitely be memorable :)
Now that I’m home it’s back to work.  Of course with Mercury in retrograde in my sign lol there have been many small upheavals to come home to but I am not going to trip over the trivial ;) .  I have two jewelry sales the next couple of weeks to do & Halloween is coming up so there will be lots of fun things to do to prepare for that as well.  I’m glad to be home and getting back into the swing of things.   I will post some pictures when I have them all sorted/edited.

Wildlife and Hiking Nature Photos I took :)

I’ve been very fortunate this summer while hiking and have managed to capture some beautiful wildlife photos. I love animals so much and I hope you’ll enjoy these pictures too :) especially the squirrel he was too funny! :) he was hanging of for dear life to those light tree branches eating those berries…

The first one isn’t pretty… in fact he’s rather creepy but interesting! This little fellow was perched on our tire when we emerged from our tent one morning and I just had to take a picture. This is a cicada that just shed its outer shell….

Next is a dragonfly with the neatest wings I’ve ever seen…. really the cute stuff is coming later ;) lol….

Next I have a butterfly and honeybee - both beautiful and abundant in Pere Marquette state park in Illinois.

Next is a fawn that was bedded down in some tall grass…. so sweet I fell in love with this picture when I saw it …. awwwwwwww

and last but certainly not least my funny squirrel friend eating his berries….he’s so cute and he was so comical it was a real joy taking a hundred pictures to get him sitting still long enough for these ;) lol….

That’s all for now - hope to find some more wildlife to capture on my next trip in another week or so :) I love camping and hiking! :D

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Simon my new miracle baby :)

Here’s my new baby Simon.

He is 5 weeks old now and I took these today. All kitties are sweet and precious but simon is a bit of a miracle baby. he was born with a spinal injury and could not even walk until a few days ago. We were all worried he’d be crippled for life and then he just turned around on a dime and finally got his little hind feet to work. For weeks they would just collapse out from under him. It was really hard to watch. Then he just sort of snapped out of it and started to walk. At first just on the rug, but then in a day or two he could walk on the wood floor too. He’s come a long way in his short little life so far. He’s a real feist too lol. He is fat and pretty and loves to beat up his sister dottie. :)

Another funny story. My mother has a lot of cats and she was getting tired of having so many so she decided to do a banishing spell and asked the universe to kindly relieve her of some cats in a loving way so that they would have good homes and she could better provide for the ones that were left (she had 6 of them at the time) Two weeks later this new cat shows up in the house! it got in through a dryer vent and it was still a kitten. Wild as could be they couldn’t catch it so they kept her and now she is the one who just had these babies… She is tamer now and the babies have been handled right off the bat and so they are tame too…

And the moral of this story….

When the universe gives you a gift don’t try to give it back LOL

Here is his sister Dottie … omg is she too cute??

Ghosts in the graveyard…

< !DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

Ok, so no ghosts were there lol, but I visited a very lovely cemetery yesterday. A little background - I love history and in particular i love things like architecture and design. Any chance I get to tour an old home or go on a history tour I’m so there! I also have a love for historic cemeteries and I love to check out the different headstones and statues things of that nature. Yes I’m eccentric I know ;) … but I went to the most beautiful place yesterday. It has these old trees that just tower so high in the sky it’s hard to see the tops of them looking up. It also had many older headstones from the 1820’s and 30’s that are remarkably well preserved - wonder if its from all the old trees towering over them??

Anyway, I saw some neat statues and it was so lovely that I took some photos and thought I’d post some just for fun. I made them into black & whites and thought they looked cool :)

Enjoy!
