Free Tarot Lessons: The Wheel of Fortune

If you are new here – be sure to start with the Tarot Lessons Page – this has all lessons in order for you.

I’m making my way through every individual card as time allows, but there’s no need to wait for me! You can do a card a day as I suggest in the beginning of the course (see above).

Remember – do your own Tarot journal before reading mine for the best results!

Wheel of Fortune

This card depicts the giant wheel which reminds me of the Universal law that states all things are in constant motion – change is a constant.

When I see this card I am reminded of the “circle of life” and growth coming through cycles of change and progress.  Reversed this card suggests to me going backwards or not going with the flow – resistance, which is futile, but ultimately only leads to more challenges.

The elements at the four corners speak to me of rebirth(phoenix looking bird), strength(lion), spiritual assistance/guidance (the angel) and determination (ox) – All of these creatures have angel wings which tells me the changes I am embarking on are to help me grow or reach higher.

This card reminds me of the importance to embrace life’s cycles.  The universe knows what it’s doing and it’s only in my smallness that I feel threatened by change.  This card empowers me to look for opportunities rather than try to fight to remain comfortable or stationary.

Tarot Lesson: The Hermit

The Hermit

If you are new here – be sure to start with the Tarot Lessons Page – this has all lessons in order for you.

Gradually I am making my way through all the cards here in order – but there’s no need to wait for me! You can do a card a day as I suggest in the beginning of the course (see above).

Remember do your own journal entries before reading mine for the best results. Doing your own helps personalize the cards for you and gets you to see the details in the cards with more clarity!

My Journal Entry

In this card I notice the man looks like a monk.  He seems very serene and almost solemn in his stance.  He is holding a lantern up high and appears to be looking at the ground before him.  He uses a staff to help him in his journey.

This man seems very meditative and within himself.  The surroundings are very non-descript and this to me means he’s not one to be sidetracked by distractions.  Very focused.  The light to me symbolizes our inner knowledge and wisdom.  The fact that he holds his  lantern high for others to see suggests he has gleaned great wisdom that he wishes to share with others to help illuminate their path.

His energy is steadfast and vigilant – alone, but not lonely or feeling “need”.  He seems to be very at peace with his place.  He holds his staff close to him – not in a manner that suggests he needs the support of it to move forward.  This tells me that he is very self-reliant and trusts his own wisdom/guidance.  He illuminates his own path and the path of others with his lantern – so he would represent to me wisdom, the sage, the elders those we look to for their experience.

Law of Attraction and Debt Management

Have you ever wondered if you can use the universal laws to help you get out of debt? (or deal with any other challenges?) My latest post on the Universal Laws Explained blog goes into this and how with a few simple adjustments to your approach you can allow the Law of Attraction (and other universal laws) help you to turn that challenge around.

The big key is to stop giving energy to what you don’t want – and focus properly on solutions in ways that will allow them to manifest for you. Often when we face challenges there is the temptation to do the “ostrich” thing and put our heads in the sand or ignore it until it blows up in our face etc. That’s not the right approach either ;) . When I say “don’t think about debt” … it doesn’t mean ignore the situation…

I explain what I mean fully in today’s post
“Can the Law of Attraction Get Me Out of Debt?” Enjoy

Ace’s in Tarot: The Seasons & Cycles they Represent

Ace’s in the Tarot are the first card of each suit and each Ace represents a season – and the life lessons associated with that season. Sometimes they can be a bit like timelines in a spread, but typically I don’t view them that way. I look at them more as new opportunities that are coming in – a new cycle of events.

Universal law tells us that things are always growing and changing – seasons and cycles are always upon us and all have their purpose. The Ace’s can help us kind of pinpoint where in a cycle we happen to be – or alert us to the opportunity to move into a new cycle that would be to our benefit.

The Ace of Wands represents Autumn – think of the fiery ace of wands and the fiery colors of the leaves on a beautiful fall day. It speaks of abundance and preparation for the winter ahead. Many crops/flowers etc are planted in the fall – where they begin the work needed underground to blossom the following spring. Ace of Wands is similar – the wands speak of new ideas/plans, doing the groundwork and really seeding an idea or going through the initial phases. Often these new ideas spring from an abundance of colorful fiery energy and passion – and this has to be nurtured even through the cold months ahead knowing that in time the ideas/seeds will blossom if tended and nurtured properly.

The Ace of Cups represents Summer. In the summer we tend to have the most energy, we spend more times outdoors, the crops and fruits are abundant and we are given the longest periods of daylight. Ace of Cups speaks of illumination also, coming into full growth and really seeing the possibilities and feeling enriched. When the Ace of Cups appears it allows us time to focus on the abundance that surrounds us and it gives us more insight into what is possible. It is a season and cycle of enlightenment and growth.

The Ace of Swords represents Winter. This one always seems a bit ironic to me, because typically we swords as cards of swift action, determination and movement. When we think of winter we tend to think of the trees and plants having “died back” – but what this card reminds us of is that hard work is taking place within the trees/plants and underground in the roots – they don’t simply “stop moving” – they are busily preparing in non-obvious ways for the years ahead. The winter also speaks of being “pruned back” so that new growth is possible in the spring months. Swords are cards of “cutting away” or pruning and this particular ace speaks of removal of what is dead or gets in the way – that cleansing/clearing process makes way for great new growth, just like the pruning back and “sleep” of winter leads to abundance.

The Ace of Pentacles then is the card of Spring. In the Tarot the coins speak of rewards for past actions, things that blossom over time. The spring is a season of rewards and renewal after winter is over. Many people love spring for the fresh new energy it brings and it gives a sense of continuation – life moving on, fresh starts. When this card comes in often people will find that something previously established is reformed in a new way in their lives – it’s a card of revamping or renewing. The fruits of past labors begin to manifest and lead to even better opportunities.
